happy almost-weddings Carmen and Stephanie!
this is Carmen (in yellow), and this is Stephanie (in green).
these two lovely ladies are each getting married in September to great
guys, so a few of my work colleagues and i wanted
to celebrate their upcoming marriages. since getting married to boone
was the best thing that ever happened to
me, i think it's SUPER important to make other brides-to-be feel
special by going all out. it's a pretty busy time of year for us,
though, so we decided to do something fun but easy....ice cream sundaes
and cocktails!
how do southerners throw parties for their gal pals? like this:
they bring out the good silver, grandmothers tablecloth, and the silly cherub candlesticks...
decorate the house with some easy-peasy (but big impact) details ...
pre-scooping the strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla ice cream and re-freezing it on a cookie sheet (to make serving a snap) PLUS making sure everyone's favorite toppings are somewhere on the table...
nuts, pretzels, sprinkles, mini reeces, brownies, cookies, caramel sauce, chocolate syrup, cherries, strawberries, bananas, peaches, waffle cones, chocolate chipes, and homemade whipped cream are MUSTs.
get the bar stocked with wine and girly pink drinks (recipes for vodka and grenadine woo-woos and Pink French 75s to come soon)
and then they make their own perfect sundaes and party with all the ladies and celebrate the brides to be! ;)
Stephanie and Carmen, I know your futures will be so happy with Jake and Kevin and I hope you feel loved, supported, and celebrated. smooches!Labels: dessert, drinks, hospitality
